Enrollment Now Open for Trekkers 7th Grade Program

Trekkers has officially opened their 7th grade application process to all current 7th grade students living in Thomaston, Cushing, St. George, South Thomaston, Owls Head and Rockland. The enrollment period will extend from November 28, 2017 to the deadline of February 2, 2018. Applications must postmarked by February 2 or received at the Trekkers office by 5 pm on February 2, 2018, to be considered on time. Ski Museum of Maine Joins Camden Public Library Winter History Lecture Series

Maine is very rich in ski history, yet many people do not realize it nor recognize the place this history holds within the American ski world. Because of this, many of those who have valued the special spirit the sport entails are concerned this history will be lost. It is this concern which motivated the founders of the Ski Museum of Maine to organize. The Ski Museum will be at the Camden Public Library on Sunday, December 17 at 2:00 pm as part of the Winter History Series. The series is co-sponsored by the Camden-Rockport Historical Society. Camden Inns Open House, Saturday December 9

Seven Camden Inns will invite the public in for an open house on Saturday, December 9th from noon to 2 pm. The Inns Open House is part of Camden’s ongoing Second Saturday program, with a different downtown theme each month. Participating inns include: 16 Bay View Hotel, the Blackberry Inn, Camden Harbour Inn, the Elms of Camden, the Hawthorn Inn, Lord Camden and Norumbega. Rockland Language School to Host Greek Meal

Penobscot Language School in Rockland will host a Greek meal prepared by Maria Alexia Platia and local foodie, Louise MacLellan-Ruf on Thursday, December 7th at 6 p.m. Maria originally moved to the United States to attend the Rhode Island School of Design. She currently works as an apprentice at the boat-building school in Rockland. On the menu for the evening is a three course meal including spanakopita, a spinach pie, and moussaka, a Greek casserole.
