Local children’s authors will signing their books at the Owl & Turtle Bookshop Cafe during Christmas by the Sea weekend in Camden. Signings will take place from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, December 2nd, just after Santa arrives in Camden Harbor by boat! Meet Chris Van Dusen, Melissa Sweet, Liza Gardner Walsh and Kimberly Ridley!

Expiring ITINs and the Importance of Renewing Them

The Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers with expiring Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to submit their renewal applications as soon as possible. Failing to renew them by the end of the year will cause refund and processing delays in 2018. Rockland and Camden Shops Support UMC with Days of Giving

The holiday spirit is thriving in Rockland and the Camden area, where businesses in each town have set aside a Saturday in December to contribute to United Midcoast Charities (UMC) in support of the work of local nonprofit organizations.

Rockland will host a Day of Giving on December 2, and the Camden area will follow suit on December 9. Participating shops have committed to generously donate a portion of their sales to UMC, and all proceeds will be applied toward UMC’s grants – which help food pantries, health clinics, nursing services, homeless shelters and other providers of vital services in Knox and Waldo counties.
