This is by no means an exhaustive list, so please check out Maine's Office of Tourism and Maine's Midcoast (a collaborative of 7 Maine coastal Chambers of Commerce) for more Maine attractions.

Camden Accommodations hosts Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce Volunteers

Barbara Heard, owner of Camden Accommodations welcomed the PBRCC Volunteers to an open house and tour in April.

Barbara educated the volunteers and visitor center staff about what Camden Accommodations does and what she feels sets them apart. "Camden Accommodations is currently celebrating its 21st year as mid-coast Maine's premier vacation rental agency. Our goal is not to represent the most properties, but to represent beautiful properties and to work hard to represent them well. We believe our job is two-fold; to work with property owners toward the successful rental of their homes, and to work with guests. Since 1994 we have built a stellar reputation doing both. "says Heard.

State of Maine Cheese Company Hosts PBRCC Volunteers

Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce (PBRCC) volunteers and staff were invited to tour the State of Maine Cheese Company as part of a new program to familiarize current PBRCC representatives with various Chamber member businesses.

Cathe Morrill opened the doors at State of Maine Cheese Company earlier this month to host an open house and tour of her store and facility. Morrill purchased the Rockport property in 1996. Located at 461 Commercial Street (known as US Route 1), the business offers a large selection of local wines, handmade items like knitwear, soaps, and lotions, general merchandise, meats and, of course, cheese. 75,000 pounds of cheese a year, to be exact; making her company one of the largest in the state. Most of Morrill’s cheeses are available to sample on a daily basis.

On certain days, visitors can watch the cheese being made (check www.cheese-me.com for times, as they vary). Group tours of the production area are offered all year.

New Monthly Online Giveaway to Showcase PBRCC Members

In 2015, the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce introduces a new monthly giveaway program on their Facebook page; beginning this month. All products and services included in each giveaway have been generously donated by current PBRCC member businesses.

“We are introducing these giveaways to encourage online engagement for the Chamber, and, more importantly, for our members,” said Maggi Blue, PBRCC Marketing Director. “Meaningful online interaction can be difficult as we become inundated with emails, Facebook messages and other targeted online advertising campaigns. This is a simple way to showcase participating members, forward traffic to their online outlets while introducing the regional, and out-of-state, community to products and services they may not be aware exist.” Continue Reading →

PBRCC “Midcoast Money” Makes the Perfect Gift

Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce “Midcoast Money” Gift Certificates
Perfect gift for your employees and customers or friends and family.

The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to continue its Shop Local, Shop Midcoast Program.  Midcoast Money is available in denominations of $10, $25 and $50 and can be purchased by calling the Chamber office at 207-596-0376.

How It Works
Our Midcoast Money is redeemed like a check. A business receiving Midcoast Money simply deposits it like any other check. The money is in an account, maintained by the Chamber, and funded by the original purchase of the gift certificate. If a customer uses only a portion of the Midcoast Money, the recipient can give back cash or a credit. Either way, businesses that receive Midcoast Money will get the full value of the check.
