Camden’s 30th Annual Christmas By the Sea, December 2-4

Camden is a festive place the first weekend of December. On Friday evening, with the shops open late and the streets aglow, horse and wagon rides will take visitors around town to see the sights. People will line the streets to watch the festive lighted floats parade through town, with Santa on the last float with the cub scouts. This is the 30th year that THIS Santa has ridden in this parade. It’s the only pre-holiday stop he and his Elf make each year. Children who whisper to him what they want for Christmas, and pose for a photo in one of the three local towns – several are children of parents who also sat on his lap a 20+ years ago. Chamber Business Breakfast to address Maine’s Labor Shortage

The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the next in a series of quarterly Business Breakfasts, with a presentation entitled, “Maine’s Labor Shortage: The Immigrants’ Role in Meeting Our Workforce Challenges”. The event will be held on Monday, December 12th at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, and will run from 7AM to 9AM.

Dana Connors, CEO of the Maine State Chamber, and Yellow Light Breen, CEO of the Maine Development Foundation, will jointly address Chamber members and guests on the topic of their recent report with long term recommendations for Maine’s labor shortage. Continue Reading →

Gardens Aglow brightens the Mid-Coast again this holiday season!

The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay will light up the winter nights once again this holiday season as they present Gardens Aglow from November 18th through December 31st.

Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Show: Great Boats Everywhere

Are you boat-besotted? Then the Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Show, known for fine boats and beautiful sheerlines, wants you. Of course, the show, to be held August 12-14, 2016, on the waterfront in Rockland, Maine, offers fine furniture, beautiful jewelry, and essential home wares, but a major focus is on the boats. There will be boats in the water, boats on land, boats all over the place.

All told, there will be more than 100 boats on display this weekend at the largest in-water boat show north of Newport, Rhode Island. More than 50 will be on the docks, the majority from Maine and New England builders, among them Back Cove, Hinckley, Hunt, Lyman-Morse, Maine Cat, MJM, Morris Yachts, Pursuit/Yarmouth Boat Yard, Sabre, and Wilbur. Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce offers Overtime Rule Presentation

Make sure that your business is ready for the new Overtime Rule that goes into effect on December 1, 2016 by attending a special presentation hosted by the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.
