Long Cove Lands Forever Conserved by the Georges River Land Trust

Long Cove in St. George is a special place. From the start, Leslie Hyde and Anne Cogger, owners of Pocket Cove Farm shared a commitment to keep this small stretch of Maine’s beloved coastline wild and free. Thanks to their vision and generosity, and help from the George River Land Trust, shoreland on Long Cove and associated uplands are now permanently protected. United Midcoast Charities Application & Grant Reader Deadlines Upcoming

United Midcoast Charities is currently soliciting applications for its competitive grant process. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and groups with fiscal sponsorship. Recipients should be focused on making maximum impact in Knox and Waldo counties in one or more of UMC’s focus areas of Food, Housing, Health and Safety, and Economic Security. Nonviolent communication workshops at the Hutchinson Center

Nonviolent communication expert Peggy Smith will lead a series of workshops at the Hutchinson Center in April and May as part of the University of Maine Hutchinson Center’s professional development program.
