Undersea Exploration at the Camden Public Library April 11

As part of Maritime Month at the Camden Public Library, Karl McLetchie of SeaKnowledge will report on recent deepsea explorations, using photos and video from scientific and archaeological explorations. SeaKnowledge is a marine operations and design company dedicated to applying the latest technologies to ocean exploration. During his presentation at the library on Thursday, April 11 at 7:00 pm, McLetchie will cover archaeological, biological, and geological discoveries from around the world at depths down to 6,000 meters (3.7 miles!). He will also describe the unique engineering challenges associated with exploring these extreme depths, and conclude with a discussion about some of the human impacts he has observed in these remote underwater environments. Celebrate National Poetry Month with Elizabeth Tibbetts

Help Keep Knox County Beautiful - Route 1 Relay

The snow has melted and exposed a tremendous amount of litter that has collected throughout the winter along our otherwise scenic Route 1. It is time to remove the trash and beautify Route 1 for the benefit and safety of our residents and seasonal visitors, alike. Keep Knox County Beautiful is seeking local businesses and community organizations to adopt a ½ mile stretch of Route 1 in Knox County. During the two-day event on May 3 and 4, we are asking business sponsors to coordinate teams of 2-4 individuals to clean a half mile assigned section of Route 1 from the Warren/Waldoboro line all the way north to the Camden/Lincolnville line.
