Since its founding in 2005, the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) has risen to prominence as one of the world’s most respected documentary festivals. Taking place each fall along the beautiful coast of Maine, CIFF champions innovative work that explores the boundaries of nonfiction storytelling through a carefully curated collection of films and immersive media exhibitions from around the world. Multiple venues include the Camden Opera House, Rockport Opera House, Rockland's Strand Theatre, the Farnsworth Art Museum, High Mountain Hall, and a multimedia virtual reality / augmented reality / slow cinema installation in a barn behind Rockland's Main Street. With hundreds of US and international filmmakers and industry professionals attending annually, against the extraordinary backdrop of midcoast Maine in September, CIFF has become recognized internationally.
