Fall Environmental Book Club - Bremen

Wednesday, October 2 –

Event Time: 1-2:30pm

Bremen Library
204 Waldoboro Rd, Bremen

Join Rebecca Jacobs, Knox- Lincoln SWCD to discuss Eager: The Surprising Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter by Ben Goldfarb. In this engaging book, environmental journalist Ben Goldfarb highlights the beneficial contributions of beavers, a keystone species with a long history on the North American continent. Winner of the 2019 PEN/E.O. Wilson Award for Literary Science Writing, Goldfarb writes with warmth and humor as he challenges dominant cultural perspectives about this riparian critter and proposes that we actually need more beavers, not fewer! Limited copies of books may be borrowed at your local library or InterLibrary Loan. Participants are asked to read the first three sections of the book before the first session.
