Form Follows Function

Thursday, October 10 – Saturday, November 30, 2019

Event Time:

Page Gallery
23 Bay View Street, Camden

Form Follows Function, is a group exhibition that bridges the gap between functional objects and fine art. Function may be the goal of each object, but the beauty of the form is still at the front of each artist's mind. The show includes original book illustrations by Chris Van Dusen and Siri Beckman, hand-forged knives by Ben Breda, wooden boxes by Timo Foster, a hand-painted folding screen by Anneli Skaar, ceramic, glass and bronze vessels, and more. Craftsmanship and artistic expression are key to each of these functional pieces. As Frank Lloyd Wright said, “Form follows function - that has been misunderstood. Form and function should be one, joined in a spiritual union.”
