Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament Thanks

Members of the Bangor Savings Bank golf teams showed their support at the Chamber Challenge, held September 11th at Rockland Golf Club.

Fifty-six golfers turned out at Rockland Golf Club on Friday, September 11 to take part in the annual Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament to benefit our mission of supporting local businesses and organizations. We are so grateful to all who participated and supported this event!

We thank the following businesses who supported the tournament by fielding a team AND sponsoring a hole, including: Bangor Savings Bank, Camden National Bank, Dead River Company, Edward Jones, Maritime Energy, Mike Mullins For House, Pine Grove Cottages, RE/MAX Jaret & Cohn, and Shepard Motors.

We are grateful to Fuller Chevrolet GMC Truck for sponsoring our hole-in-one prizes, including a car on one hole! Fuller has supported the Chamber with this sponsorship for many years.

We thank the following businesses who sponsored a team in the in the tournament, including Gartley & Dorsky (2 teams!), Planet Toys, Southend Grocery, and the Winterport Boys.

We also greatly appreciate businesses who were hole sponsors, including Adventure Advertising, Courier Publications, Eaton Peabody, First National Bank, Global Packing & Shipping, Gordon Page For Senate, Hawthorn Inn, Heal Accounting, Horch Roofing, Maine Lobster Festival, Rock Harbor Pub & Brewery, Rockland Main Street Inc., and O'Hara Corp.

Last but not least, we appreciate the support of the team at Rockland Golf Club and Clubhouse II for all their help in organizing this event.

The team from Planet Toys took home low gross, posting a 57, while the team from Shepard Motors finished in second place with a 61. Greg Jones of Machias Savings Bank won closest to the pin for men on #18 at 7'4", and Carole Gartley of Gartley & Dorsky was closest to the pin for women on #18 at 16'3". Chris Seavey from Maritime Energy won the putting contest, and Ian Sady from the Planet Toys team won longest drive on #13.

Thanks to all for helping the Chamber raise over $4,400 at this event. Looking forward to next year!
