The Maine’s Midcoast & Islands (MMI) regional tourism organization is funded by the Maine Office of Tourism (MOT), and governed by an association of Chambers Of Commerce from Brunswick to Belfast. The region exists to attract visitors to our region, which extends from Brunswick along the coast to Searsport, and most communities in Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties.
One thing we’re always in need of is photography, specifically beautiful or moving photography, that makes people want to come here. Content is king!
We have a budget to pay for good images, and while we often hire photographers and influencers and the like, we’re trying something new this time. We’d like to pay you, our tourism partners, for great photos. Specifically, we will pay $100 per chosen image, and we will choose up to 50 images between now and May 1. Send us your photos, and we might send you a check. We’re looking for shots that show us off: landscapes, attractions, activities, indoors and out… you name it. We love shots with people having fun, dramatic sunrises, even food shots could work.
Aside from the $100 payoff, you stand to benefit from significant exposure to people who are already interested in traveling here. Your credited photo could be used in any of a number of media channels. Our email list has 72,000 subscribers, we have 37,000 followers on our Facebook page, 14,000 on Instagram and we hand or send out between 10,000 and 30,000 guidebooks each year.
The fine print: You must own all rights to any images you send. You must agree to give us rights to use the images in print, on our website, on social media, in displays without restriction. Images must (obviously) be taken in our region. We reserve the right to accept or reject any image for any reason. Only images selected for payment will be used.
