Independent Living Program Support Staff

Part Time at Knox County Homeless Coalition in Rockland, Maine

KCHC is seeking a responsible, enthusiastic, positive role model to serve as Weekend Support Staff for our Independent Living Program at The Landing Place in Rockland. The Support Staff will play a key role in supporting high-risk youth living in our efficiency apartments as they transition towards independent living. A successful candidate would show attention to detail, approachability, clear communication, professional judgment an boundaries, and the ability to work independently. Staff will focus on monitoring and maintaining site safety and cleanliness, independent living skills development with residents, organizational communication, and additional facilitation of program needs in collaboration with the Shelter Coordinator. All staff at The Landing Place embrace a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to youth development, and act as community advocates on behalf of high-risk youth and families. We seek caring, honest, creative, and supportive staff members who are collaborative-minded, solution-oriented, self-directed, non-judgmental, and capable of maintaining perspective, as well as a sense of humor. Our staff are passionate about working with youth and have a proven ability to support others in caring, courageous, and inspiring ways. Support Staff should have at least 2 years of experience working with youth in a professional setting, and a high school diploma (bachelor's degree preferred). The part-time Weekend Support Staff position consists of evening shifts Friday - Sunday on-site. Staff must be able to access our 2nd story office via stairs.
