Free Historic Walking Tours in Camden

Posted June 26, 2020

The Camden Public Library is pleased to once again offer live walking tours of downtown Camden on Friday afternoons at 4:00 pm, starting June 26 and running through September 11.

This entertaining and educational walking tour features a handful of historic sites in downtown Camden, including the Camden Public Library grounds and Amphitheatre, which were designated a National Historic Landmark in 2013. Learn about the people, places, and industries that continue to make Camden a special destination. The tour begins in the Children’s Garden of the Camden Public Library on Atlantic Avenue and ends at the Village Green. Moderate walking involved; suitable for all ages.

Each 60-minute tour will be conducted in compliance with COVID 19 guidelines established by the State of Maine. To that end, the tours will be conducted entirely out-of-doors and will be weather dependent. Face masks will be required, and each tour will be limited to 6 people. Advance reservations are therefore required; please call the Library Circulation Desk at 207-236-3440 to book your spot.

Free of charge and open to all, though donations are cheerfully accepted. Service dogs welcome.
