New Gardening Class offered at MCST

There’s a bonus * added to our August SUMMER Adult Ed programming (in person on campus during the day). Our team here at the school makes sure we have a safe and healthy environment. You can register for upcoming classes on our website, Or call our office (207-596-7752 x3) Mondays through Thursdays, 9:30-4:00, to register with Heidi or Betsy over the phone. To avoid disappointment, register promptly to assure the class runs and you have a seat in it!

‘The Colors of Summer – Outdoor Watercolor’, with Audrey McGlashan, meets for 6 sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-noon, starting August 3rd. Set up & paint outside, but know the indoor classroom is ready if the weather turns.

‘Wilderness & Remote First Aid’ is presented by Am. Red Cross. Steve, the CPR instructor, teaches outdoor survival and 1st Aid Mon. Aug. 2nd – Wed. Aug. 4th, 9am-4:30pm. This includes indoor & outdoor training and CPR certification.

* John Fromer will present ‘Perennial Combinations’, starting Thursday, Aug. 5th, 10am to noon. Learn to design a perennial garden where individual plants thrive and coexist with their neighbors in a whole, blended garden. Bloom times, foliage height, shape, color and textures, work together all season long. The class continues on Thursday, Aug. 12th, 10am to noon.

‘CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)’ training runs for 9 weeks with Terry Adkins, RN. The T/W/Th class meets 8am – 4pm, starting Aug. 10. Successful students earn a State Certificate, and there are a number of options for funding the course.

‘Growing Cut Flowers’, with John Fromer, meets for 2 Tuesdays from 10-noon, starting Aug. 18th. Class focuses on growing annuals and perennials that stay fresh-looking for cut displays.
