Shedding Light on Seasonal Affective Disorder at Camden Public Library

Posted December 06, 2018

The Camden Public Library welcomes Dr. Marianne Bernadino on Thursday, December 20 at 7:00 to discuss Seasonal Affective Disorder. Says Bernadino, "Do you or a loved one find yourself getting grumpier this time of year? Do you feel like you just have to “brush it off” to get through your week? Does the thought of January make you want to hide in a deep, dark hole and sleep until April? Do you tend to crave carbs and gain weight this time of year?"

Dr. Bernadino will review the theories and symptoms surrounding the phenomena of seasonally related mood changes. She will also review the variety of treatments that have been shown to be effective including light therapy, psychotherapy, supplements, and medications. Bring your questions and a friend to what is sure to be an illuminating hour for all.
